Just Your Imagination
It's just your imagination... or is it? What does that mean, is it always just fantasy? ...or is it a real and powerful tool that God has given to mankind?
Just because something is not in the natural realm perceived by our five senses, does not make it, 'not real'. The ability to imagine is the beginning of the creation process and is closely connected with spiritual reality.
The spiritual realm Is more real than the natural realm, it was here before the Earth was created. It's just a different realm, a different dimension so to speak.
The Reality of Mental Imagery
You may not have thought about it quite like this before but Bible verses give us examples of how real our mental imagery is, Jesus makes a statement and said in Matt 5:27-29...
"You have heard that it was said to those of old, 'You shall not commit adultery.' But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. NKJV
What we imagine in our hearts is so real that when we use it for evil it actually becomes sin. And we bring that sin back into the natural world from the realm of imagination! If we imagine it, if we think deeply on it, we have committed it. The Bible's statement is sufficient evidence or proof of it's reality. It's a real realm.
Imagination so real it can cause the need for repentance.
Another example found in Acts 8:20-22
But Peter
said to him,(Simon) "Your money perish with you, because you thought
that the gift of God could be purchased with money! You have neither
part nor portion in this matter, for your heart is not right in the
sight of God. Repent therefore of this your wickedness, and pray God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.
We should pay attention to what we are thinking for it can cause us to walk after the Spirit or in our flesh and sin.
Je
16:12 says...And ye have done worse than your fathers; for, behold, ye
walk every one after the imagination of his evil heart,..
Although
the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; If you Give your
heart to God, He will change it from a stony heart to a heart of flesh.
He will teach you how to use your mind to glorify Him. He will raise you up and give you beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;That you may be called trees of righteousness,...Isa 61:3
Deep Thoughts Can Create.
People say, it's only in your mind, not realizing how very important that is. They dismissed it as unimportant when it is the first step in creation itself.
Look around at the objects of the creations of man. Every building, every piece of furniture, accessory, item of clothing, everything that exists in this world once only existed in someone's imagination. Deep thoughts start the creation process. At one time this Earth was only in the mind of God.
Our thoughts can create! Our thoughts can create sin and objects and make them come into this natural world. WOW... No wonder Bible Scriptures tell us…
2 Cor 10:5-6 ... Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,... Maybe it is much more important than we had realized.
Westernized Thinking
Being raised in the West sometimes can have it's disadvantages. Western logical thinking can be a disadvantage when teaching our children about the things of the spirit.
When one of our children come running from their bedroom saying, "there is a monster under the bed", how do most westernized thinking parents handled the situation?
A logical thinking parent might bring the child into the room, look under the bed, and look in the closet and say, see there is nothing in here, it's just your imagination, go back to sleep. By this, we are teaching our children that the imagination is not real.
Perhaps it would be better to consider the realization of the spiritual world that is present all around us. We know by many Bible verses that there is good and evil in that spiritual world. Children can be more sensitive to the spiritual realm than some adults.
If when the imagination of a child sees a monster, Instead of dismissing it, it may be better to explain to the child who they are in Christ and that they have great authority over the spirit world in Jesus name.
You could go in that room and take authority over what ever it is that is frightening the child and cast it out in Jesus name, and it must go.
In the Bible, Eli handled the story of Samuel differently than westernized thinking... Samuel heard a voice from the spiritual realm...
1 Sam 3:8-10 ...'And the Lord called Samuel again the third time. So he arose and went to Eli, and said, "Here I am, for you did call me." Then Eli perceived that the Lord had called the boy. 9 Therefore Eli said to Samuel, "Go, lie down; and it shall be, if He calls you, that you must say, 'Speak, Lord, for Your servant hears.'" So Samuel went and lay down in his place. 10 And Jehovah came, and stood, and called as at the other times, Samuel, Samuel! And Samuel said, Speak, for thy servant heareth.'KJV.
We cannot allow our westernized thinking stop us from fully realizing the spiritual reality that exists all around us. We must change our perspective to see through our spiritual eyes. We can become more sensitive to the Holy Spirit and the spiritual realm. Ask God to open wide our spiritual eyes and ears and give us discernment of the higher spiritual realm from which we came.

Certain Greek and Hebrew words that in some Scriptures are translated "imagination" , and in other Scriptures the same word can be translated as “understanding”, "mind," " the mind as a faculty of understanding", "feeling," "desiring", spirit, way of thinking and feeling", "thoughts, either good or bad.,"“cunning” and more.
Use as Directed for Best Results.
Creative thinking with your Imagination or Mental imagery is neither good nor evil in itself and we can use it in a positive way or negative. It is a tool that we use. Like a projector or a TV it depends on what you project on it whether it is evil or good.
Rom 1:21-23 ..... although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Professing to be wise, they became fools, 23 and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man NKJV.
Pr 6:16-19.
These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, 18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, 19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Lk 1:51 He hath shewed strength with his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
Josh 1:8-9
Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. NKJV

We are a New Creature in Christ
Bible verses tell us we are a new creature in Christ, a new creation. Scriptures are clear that God is a Spirit as well as our Father. God created us in his image, our spirit is therefore of the spiritual realm. We are a spirit that lives in a body and has a soul. Born again believers are spiritual beings living in a natural world that God created for us.
The spiritual world is reality and God gave us a spiritual organ called imagination to reach into that world. Have no fear about the spiritual realm. The spiritual realm should be as natural to us as the natural world for we are of both realms.
The sons of God (us) have been given authority over all of the evil in the spiritual world in Jesus name. God gives us instructions of how to overcome evil, by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
We are, as the Bible puts it, a peculiar people. Sons of God are more than natural, we are born again of the Spirit. God is now in the process of forming us and teaching us is ways. Our Father is a Creator God and God has created us to be creative beings. He is teaching us how to use the power of our imagination to create.

It's not just your imagination but it is an powerful tool that God has
given to us to use. God will also teach us how to use that tool. We can
see how things born in our imagination can be brought into this natural
world.
