- Forgiveness -
and Healing
Jesus spoke often about forgiveness. Under the Law the principle can be illustrated as a two sided coin. On one side of the coin, is pardon for your sins. On the other side of the coin is your willingness to pardon others. Both are connected like two sides of a coin. The law of God is holy and just and good but how to fulfill the Law is another question.
The hurts some have suffered can be so great that they just can't forgive. Others have tried to do it but in their heart they swore they would never forget, revealing the root of bitterness as still being there.
Sometimes people make up their mind through clinched teeth to forgive. But all human effort will not release you from the hurt still inside. Your wounded soul can be profoundly effecting you in ways you don't even realize. It can effect your marriage your family your work place your very personality.
When others hurt you they sin against you. Sin causes wounds inside your soul. Those wounds provide an opening for hate, bitterness, resentment, guilt and more to invaded your body and can manifest as sickness and disease. Sometimes the results of the sickness can lead to death.
To have complete Spiritual wellness, physical wellness and emotional wellness you must have forgiveness from you and also for you. It effects you holistically.
In Luke 6:37, 38" it says...Judge not, and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven. Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you." This is a law of what so ever you sow you shall reap. Your own forgiveness was contingent upon your fulfilling the law of forgiving others.
"I just can't"
There is mounting evidence that where there is a lack of forgiveness people become vulnerable to all sorts of sickness problems. A real threat to you of serious health issues are at stake. For example, statistics show that many involved in a bitter divorce become sick with some serious disease within months after the divorce. God knows that forgiveness is for your good.
If being unforgiving and holding on to your anger is at the root of your sickness, then conventional medicines may not be working for you. You may have tried old world and herbal alternative medicine or the latest new technologies and still not win
the battle for your health and wellness. Did you know that Anger actually has power to Control you?
I can hear someone crying.... “I know, I know, but I just can't, I don't even know if I really want to forgive!" Your hurt can be so deep that even though you know you should, you still can't forgive.
You will not be able to gain the victory in your own strength. Go to Jesus just as you are. Ask Him to help you and when you ask Him, believe that He will do it. It's God's will that you forgive, Jesus will do it for you and in you.
Line yourself up with God's will and speak out loud what you want to happen. With an honest heart pray, Lord cause me to be willing to forgive. When you can not forgive... He Can.
God's Faith
In God have Faith. In Him is found the Faith that you need for
victory. This faith is not found in your self. He will accomplish in you what you can
not do your self.The work of the Spirit can not be done in your
human strength. It takes supernatural power to receive the victory. Your
part is to Believe Only. Stand still and watch the salvation of the
Lord.
Give God the whole problem. Ask Jesus to make you willing to forgive. Like Paul said in the Bible we do not know how to perform that which is good. It's just not in us. We need God to work it in us.
Our part is to believe that God will do it in us. You give God permission by your willingness for Him to change you. He'll take it from there. He is the expert. He brings you spiritual, physical and emotional wellness. The beginning of your victory is in the decision you make in the name of Jesus to want to do His will. Your will is then lined up with His will and that sets the stage for miracles to begin to happen.
Align
yourself with the word of God. Speak out loud a prayer that gives God
permission to do His work in you. Give yourself time to meditate on God and His promises to His children. Then waiting on Him expect a miracle. (For More details on the mechanics of the how to do this, Click Here .)
Learning From the Expert
We can learn from the expert about forgiveness. There is a whole world of sin out there. Fallen man continually sins against God. Think about every sin every evil deed the human race has ever committed against the Law of God from the time of Adam through the end of time. Every sin was a sin against God.
When God created man He created him perfect, in the image of God He created them. God wanted a family not robots. God created His children with a free will. But it was no surprise to God that our flesh was weak and we could fail to keep His perfect law. When a baby is born the child must be cared for or it will die. Without the care of our heavenly Father, we also will die. So from before the foundations of the world God had a plan for our salvation.
The law of God is holy, just and good. The law of God is eternal and must be kept perfect. A righteous and just God cannot compromise the Law. The wages for breaking the law is death (Romans 6:) And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Heb 9:22
The fact is, a long story short,... all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, Rom 3:23-24. Everyone of of us have sinned. There is not one that has not sinned and every sin leads to death. Therefore, we all deserve hell. That's right, none of us deserve heaven. We all are lawbreakers and according to the law blood must be shed for remission. All who do not have a Savior will have to pay the punishment for their own sin with their own life's blood.
But God so Loved.....
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. John 3:16-17 NKJV
When you realize how much you are loved and how much you have been forgiven,... when you really see it, it will be easier for you to forgive others.
The plan of salvation, we will call forgiveness. Forgiveness is not a concept it is a person. Jesus Christ is the Forgiver Himself. From the Cross He Forgave us all and continues doing it in us everyday.
God's Forgiveness
In God's own words,..Rom 5:8-11
8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while
we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9 Much more then, having now been justified by His blood,
we shall be saved from wrath through Him.
10 For if when we were enemies we were reconciled to God
through the death of His Son,
much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His
life. NKJV
There is Good News!
The gospel is Good
news! Jesus made a way for us to be completely forgiven for every sin
we have ever committed and will ever commit. But without receiving Jesus His blood cannot be applied to us, we are a lost
people without Him. We have all sinned and come short of the glory of God. You and I
have failed to keep the law. Bible verses tell us that if you break one commandment you have
broken them all.
Death is the penalty. We could say it is the 'fine' or "debt owed" for not keeping the law. That is the price that must be paid. Understand there are no negotiation's.
No good deed or being a "good" person is enough to pardon you. God's
Justice must be upheld. The shedding of blood is the price that must be
payed for every sin.That is the uncompromising just law of God.
But God is not willing that you should parish. So as He planned, He sent Grace His only begotten Son to pay your fine with His Blood. God canceled your debt to the law, by His own life's blood. Jesus paid the fine, the penalty for sin.
Picture
yourself in a prison, guilty as charged by the law and awaiting the death penalty.
You are doomed to die. But hold everything, Jesus, who loves you unconditionally, walks into the
prison, He opens the cell door and takes your place and He sets you free. Jesus stayed and willingly died in
your place. You are free to go. No strings attached. Jesus died for the
sins of the whole world in this way. To believe in the salvation in Christ Jesus is the only way for it to be applied to your personal life.
Can you imagine a president of a country doing that for some prisoner on death row? Well that is what your King did for you. What kind of Love is THAT? It's hard to even begin to understand that kind of love.
You have a choice, you can continue to condemn yourself knowing you really are guilty or you can accept what Jesus did for you as a free gift. By Believing it, it causes the blood then to be applied to you personally making Jesus your Savior. Invite Jesus into your life, for It is written…Now there is no more condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
As you meditate on what it took for God to be able to offer you total redemption, AS YOU SIT IN HIS GLORY LIGHT you become healed from the hurts you have suffered from others.
Savior and Lord
Allow God to envelope you and hold you close. Seek His presence and rest in His finished work. After God removes the Pain from you and Heals your wounds you will be able to Focus your attention on Him alone.
It is then that you begin to see things differently and your mind will begin to change. Jesus will cause you to begin to see yourself and others through the eyes of Jesus. Your mind supernaturally changes direction about forgiving others.
To change your mind is called repentance. To turn around, to change
direction. This is what repentance means. It will effect not only your mind but also your will and emotions. If you do this you are making Jesus, your Savior and Lord.
The
word Lord means owner like a landlord is the owner of the house.
Jesus said why do you call me, Lord, and do not the things that I say?
So when you do the things that He says He becomes your Lord. Jesus came
to give you life and life more abundantly. The abundant life comes as
you follow his instructions, making Him your Lord.
Meditate on the goodness of God for IT IS the GOODNESS of God that brings repentance.
THEN Jesus in you will be able to forgive others. THROUGH Christ you can do all things.
It's a Miracle!
Jesus left the glory of His throne in heaven, was born of a woman on earth.
He lived that perfect sinless life that we failed to do. Justice had to
be paid but instead of making you pay for your own sins, He chose to
die for you to make you free. When God makes you free, you are free indeed. This is God's plan of salvation.
It is God doing the WORK not you. You
just go to Him and rest in His finished work. He has begun a work in you
and it is HE who will finish it.
It's Supernatural.
It's a miracle when you find yourself feeling sorry for the one who has hurt you so much by their sin.
It's a miracle to find true forgiveness and peace that can only come through the work of the Holy Spirit Himself.
It's a miracle when you are able to cancel the debt others owe you by their sin just like God canceled your sin through Jesus.
It's a miracle how Jesus removes the root of bitterness inside of us. How He heals those wounds completely without even scars left behind! Jesus is the only one who can actually heal those wounds not just cover them up.
Go to Him even now. And continue to learn...
By Grace(Jesus)...You shall be saved.
The Truth(Jesus)...Will make you Free.
